Christmas @ No.3

There’s something truly magical about Christmas at No. 3. While the village is beautiful year-round, it transforms during the festive season. Twinkling coloured lights wind their way down Fore Street, along the seafront, and right past the house, casting a gentle glow over the bay. The local pubs come alive with crackling fires and festive cheer, and the renowned male voice choir performs in the streets several times a week in the lead-up to Christmas. Carol singers even gather outside the house, filling the air with music — a heartwarming sound to enjoy from the warmth of your cosy living room.

Inside, the house becomes a perfect festive haven. A tall Christmas tree stands proudly in the sitting room, and the kitchen glows with greenery and fairy lights, setting the scene for joyful celebrations with friends and family. We’ll even share our personal guide to “doing Christmas” at No. 3, including trusted local suppliers who make preparing your festive feast a pleasure:

  • A fantastic greengrocer who boxes up fresh, seasonal veg
  • A brilliant local butcher offering the best Cornish turkeys we’ve ever tasted
  • A top-notch fishmonger—yes, they can even source local lobster if that’s on your wish list
  • The Stores and other village shops bursting with artisan treats, cakes, and handmade chocolates
  • And of course, Kate at The Stores can curate the ultimate cheeseboard for you

Supermarkets do deliver, but blending those essentials with local Cornish produce is part of the joy.

Christmas here is also about walks by the sea, games by the fire, and time to truly unwind. The antique French billot de boucher in the sitting room stores a huge selection of games—from Scrabble and Twister to backgammon and puzzles. The wooden coffee table in the sitting room even hides a secret built-in chessboard, so games can carry on from day to day.

And for ultimate relaxation? There’s nothing quite like watching stormy winter seas from the window seats, curled up with a book or glass of something festive. The handcrafted copper bath is perfect for a warming soak after a bracing coastal walk—your own private retreat to soak, relax, and take it all in.

If you’re looking for somewhere truly special to spend Christmas, we’d love to welcome you to No. 3. Just get in touch—we’re here to help make your festive stay magical.
